Vineyard Row Display Cabinet

The Hooker Vineyard Row Display Cabinet draws its character straight from California wine country — specifically the sun-drenched architecture of Sonoma and Napa, where Spanish mission details meet craftsman bungalows and everything is touched by the landscape around it. At nearly seven feet tall and built from Pecky Hickory and White Oak veneers, it carries that regional spirit into a piece of furniture with genuine material depth and hand-applied finish work.

The two-tone finish is one of its most distinctive moves. The exterior wears Napa, a rich, darker tone that references the bold character of red wine country. Step inside the cabinet and the finish shifts entirely to Sonoma, a lighter, airier treatment that opens up the interior and makes displayed pieces pop against a brighter ground. That interior-exterior contrast is deliberate design, not decoration — it changes how the piece reads depending on whether the doors are open or closed.

Those doors are wood-framed with seeded glass, and the glass itself adds texture and a period-appropriate softness to what you see through them. Two integrated lights with a three-intensity touch switch — located on the right middle hinge, where it's easy to reach — let you dial the display lighting to suit the room and the moment. Hammered metal bar pulls and matching hinge accents carry the rustic craft theme through every surface you touch.

The veneers are worked with high-low planking — alternating heights that give the surface a handcrafted, almost architectural dimension — and the distressing is done by hand through rasping and sandblasting, so the worn quality feels earned rather than applied. Hooker's finish process runs up to sixteen steps, with hand-rubbing and padding at the end that leave the surface with a smoothness you notice the first time you run a hand across it. The nitrocellulose lacquer topcoat seals in the color richness and depth that those steps build up.

Six self-closing drawers with English or French dovetail joinery and plywood sides and bottoms handle everything that doesn't belong on display. Two fixed shelves above provide open storage. Each shelf holds up to 75 pounds; each drawer up to 35. Magnetic door catches and leveling feet round out the practical details, and a tipover restraint is included for safety against a wall.
