Vineyard Row Counter Chair

Hooker's Vineyard Row Counter Chair draws its character from California wine country — specifically the sun-bleached light and unhurried atmosphere of the Sonoma region. The Sonoma finish, a pale, luminous stain applied through a multi-step process of up to sixteen hand-worked layers including rubbing and padding, gives the wood a depth and smoothness you notice when you run your hand across it. Pecky Hickory veneers bring the grain to life with the kind of natural variation that only that species produces, laid over a stable wood foundation that resists the seasonal movement solid wood is prone to.

The seat is shaped to follow the body, not just flat-cut to a profile, and the base keeps the industrial honesty that the collection's wine-country roots call for: tapered metal legs, a metal stretcher, and integrated footrests finished in a rustic tone that reads as handworked rather than factory-stamped. The whole chair sits at counter height, designed for the casual, lingering meals that this kind of room tends to host.
